AROMATHERAPY

IFPA ACCREDITED DIPLOMA in AROMATHERAPY

This is a postgraduate 4-module course available for students who already hold a recognised diploma in Holistic Massage

Aromatherapy is an ancient therapeutic treatment in evidence thousands of years ago when aromatics were a part of Egyptian daily life. It is an holistic therapy involving the use of essential oils in treatments in order to attain a high degree of physical, mental and spiritual health equilibrium. It is not merely concerned with correcting deficiencies but also with the prevention of disease and the promotion of health.
Essential oils are the 'life force' of plants and their healing powers are used to rejuvenate and regenerate the human body, to relieve the stress of modern living and to enhance well-being. Research has revealed that essential oils penetrate the skin via extracellular liquids reach the blood and lymph, which then transports them to the internal organs. Certain oils soothe and calm relieving stress or nervous related disorders, whereas others stimulate and uplift the mind and body. Some oils aid circulation, others are capable of rejuvenating the skin and others are used to affect the functions of the body such as digestion and menstruation. The general physiological and psychological condition of the person improves, rendering it less vulnerable to illness.
An aromatherapist is a person who has been trained to a defined standard in the use of essential oils for THERAPEUTIC purposes, (NB. a person trained ONLY in their application for beauty purposes is NOT considered to be an aromatherapist).
The standards have been established in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Practice as set out by the British Complementary Medicine Association and the Aromatherapy Organisations Council.

Denise Whichello Brown is the principal tutor on this course. She has been practicing aromatherapy since the 1980's and brings this experience to her teaching. She has treated tens of thousands of people and still practices now as she firmly believes that lecturers should not only teach but practice too for it is through the practice of aromatherapy that knowledge comes. She has been teaching at Beaumont College since its establishment in 1987 and has trained thousands of satisfied and successful students. Denise has written over 20 books on complementary therapies which have been translated into many languages. She is recognised internationally as a leading authority and you can be assured of the very best tuition in her hands.
